Background
QuickBooks aimed to expand its brand photography library with a focus on accountants, showcasing their pivotal role in helping businesses thrive.
The goal was to create a visually compelling library of images that could be used across various channels to celebrate the expertise and confidence of accountants who rely on QuickBooks’ tools and services. This project needed to reflect the everyday work of accountants while also incorporating elements that felt aspirational and professional, helping to reposition QuickBooks as the go-to platform for both financial and business growth.

Art Direction
Art Direction
As with previous photography projects, I was responsible for shaping the overall art direction. We wanted to capture accountants in action—engaging with clients, working through data, and using QuickBooks products in a way that felt natural and unstaged.
My focus was on ensuring that the images conveyed both the precision and the personable nature of accountants, using warm, authentic moments framed by dynamic, interesting perspectives.
For this project, I worked closely with a set designer to create custom-built environments that would bring each scene to life in a way that felt polished but still true to the accountant’s world. We used carefully designed spaces that showcased different work environments, from sleek offices to home setups, giving us the flexibility to tell diverse stories.

Pre-Production
Pre-Production
We shot in Salt Lake City, transforming an empty studio into multiple distinct sets designed to reflect different accountant workspaces. I created direction and briefed the set designer and she brought everything to life beautifully. Ensuring that each setup met our storytelling needs while feeling functional and realistic.
The sets were designed with subtle variations in layout and props to provide visual diversity and keep the focus on the accountant's role.

Production
While I wasn’t able to be on set in Salt Lake City, I supported the production remotely, staying in close contact with the team throughout the shoot. I worked alongside the set designer and other department heads to provide input and direction, making sure the vision we established during pre-production was fully realized.
Afterwards, I reviewed shots and provided retouching direction, offering feedback to adjust as needed. My role was to ensure that the storytelling remained clear and aligned with QuickBooks’ brand principles, even though I wasn’t physically present. The on-site team executed everything beautifully.

Retouching & Launch
Post-Production
After the shoot, I helped oversee the post-production phase, particularily the retouching process to ensure each image met our high standards and aligned with QuickBooks’ brand aesthetics. The final photography library was successfully launched, with the assets quickly being utilized across various platforms.
